Dave S.'s Real-Life, True, CustardQuest II Adventure:

"Upon becoming aware of the existence of this search, a quick scan of the clue story showed many references to the city in which I live, Las Vegas. Most particularly, the elaborate sketch immediately evoked the layout of the Luxor resort, and a quick comparison with Google maps removed any doubt. As the resort is 15 minutes from where I live, a quick check seemed in order. The sketch appears to point to a specific place, and when an in-person inspection revealed the nine vents on the eastern face of the building descending to a boulder minutely described in the story, it was clear this was the spot. Finding an actual small stone would require a closer reading of the clue.

"A half-hour of furtive climbing and poking around this boulder while attempting to avoid alarming the passing pedestrians and employees and cabbies proved fruitless, and I departed with some frustration. However, it was so obvious that this was the correct location that another reading of the clue story brought me back the next day to check out a very specific spot-the next highest hole with the heat-pump compressor 10 feet to the left. This time the furtive search lasted only about one minute, with the very moment of discovery inexpressibly marred by the security guard challenging me to come out from behind the boulder. He allowed me the 5 seconds or so to pry out the rock from the others covering it, and a fairly brief explanation with him and then his supervisor, showing the website on my phone, defused the situation, and I departed victorious."
